Yoks Rent a Car, a Car Rental Company in Accra in collaboration with Freedom Aid Ghana (FAG), a non-Governmental Organization in health service delivery on Sunday organized a free health screening exercise for the company’s staff.
The exercise, which is at the request of Yoks, is aimed at providing and ensuring the safety of clients and staff of the company.
About 95 staff members benefitted from the screening exercise, which included Blood Pressure test, Eye Screening, Blood Sugar level and Hepatitis B.
The screening services, provided by FAG, was to raise funds to carry out its mandate of providing humanitarian services in the area of health service delivery in deprived communities.
Mr Michael Asare, Corporate Sales Manager of Yoks said this is the first time the company is organizing such an exercise for its staff , since its establishment 14 years ago, and that, the company intends expanding the exercise to their operational communities.
He said Yoks intend to support FAG in kind or cash, to enable it to carry out its mandate and expressed the hope that the partnership would be sustained.
He said the company will organize the exercise regularly, at least twice annually, and will include both the staff and communities in which the company operates.
Dr Vincent Ganu, Board Chairman of FAG said his outfit, in the second half of 2014, targeted to partner Corporate Ghana by providing them with services to raise funds in support of the poor in society.
He said 10 corporate institutions have been targeted to raise funds to support a screening exercise for the staff and students of the Akropong School for the Deaf early next year.
Dr Ganu said FAG needs more equipment, logistics and enough personnel to carry out its mandate, and that, through this corporate partnership it would be able to raise the funds.
Mr Bright Adoboe, Chief Executive Officer of FAG said the organization will recommend to Yoks, ways of treating some of the health problems of its staff after the screening exercise.
He said FAG currently boast of three major free health screening and health seminar projects, both preventive and curative health care, in the Volta and Eastern Regions of Ghana.
Mr Adoboe said the mission of the organization is to develop a perfect platform that can be used to curb health challenges in the society through the provision of quality healthcare services.
He said the organization sees it necessary to increase its health promotion services in the country by educating the populace on how to live a healthy life style.
Freedom Aid Ghana is made up of a team of young leaders from diverse professions, who are working together for the attainment of the organization?s goals.
It is a non-profit organization, (NGO) founded in December, 2008, and seeks to provide humanitarian services in the area of health service delivery in deprived communities.
